SINOCRSL® APE
SINOCRSL® APE also called Pentaerythritol triallyl ether, Allyl Pentaerythritol Ether, is a crosslinker for polymers and a polymerization inhibitor. It has been shown to have hydrophilic properties, with water permeability values up to 2.8 x 10-6 cm/sec at 25°C. The chemical structure of this compound consists of two hydroxyl groups and one allyl ether bond, which stabilizes the formation of hydrogen bonds. This product has been shown to be stable up to 250 ℃, as well as resistant to degradation by inorganic acids and fatty acids.
Structure:
SINOCRSL® APE is a molecule with four functional groups, including three allyl groups and one hydroxyl group.
Main components:
1. Pentaerythritol, with four hydroxyl groups, serving as the core structure to which allyl groups are attached. It is derived from the aldol condensation of formaldehyde and acetaldehyd.
2. Allyl Chloride, an organochlorine compound used to introduce allyl groups into the pentaerythritol molecule.
Features:
1. Increase viscosity and cross-linking.
2. High water absorption.
3. Better corrosion resistance.
Usages:
1. Thickener and crosslinking agent
2. High water absorption acrylic resin
3. Ultraviolet curing insulating resin
4. Unsaturated polyester
5. Coatings: In coatings, it helps enhance adhesion, durability, and resistance to chemicals and weathering.
6. Adhesives: It is used to improve the performance of adhesives, making them more robust and long-lasting.
7. Sealants: SINOCRSL® APE contributes to the elasticity and durability of sealants.
Recommended dosage:
1. Polymer and Resin Formulations:
Cross-linking Agent: When used as a cross-linking agent in polymers and resins, SINOCRSL® APE is typically added in concentrations ranging from 1% to 10% by weight. The exact dosage depends on the type of polymer, the degree of cross-linking required, and the other components in the formulation.
2. Coatings:
Reactive Diluent: In coatings, SINOCRSL® APE can be used as a reactive diluent to adjust viscosity and improve film properties. Dosage levels can vary from 5% to 20% by weight, depending on the formulation and the desired performance characteristics.
3. Adhesives and Sealants:
Modifier: For adhesives and sealants, SINOCRSL® APE can be used to enhance flexibility, adhesion, and durability. Typical dosages range from 2% to 15% by weight.
4. Composites:
Matrix Component: In composite materials, SINOCRSL® APE can be incorporated into the matrix to improve mechanical properties and thermal stability. Dosage levels can be in the range of 3% to 12% by weight.
The dosage of SINOCRSL® APE is depended on the specific application and the desired properties of the final product.
Safety and Handling: As with many industrial chemicals, proper safety measures should be taken when handling PTE. It can be an irritant, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) should be used to prevent skin and eye contact.
Environmental Impact: Disposal and environmental impact should be considered, ensuring that PTE and its derivatives are managed according to regulations to minimize potential harm to the environment.
